Bulimia is often accompanied by the following signs and symptoms:

• Bad breath
• Binge eating of high-carbohydrate foods, usually in secret
• Body weight that goes up and down
• Constipation, diarrhea, nausea, gas, abdominal pain
• Damaged tooth enamel
• Dehydration
• Depression
• Eating until you are painfully full
• Exercising for hours
• Going to the bathroom during meals
• Irregular menstruation or lack of menstrual periods
• Loss of control over eating, with guilt and shame
• Sore throat or mouth sores
• Swollen glands in the neck and below the jaw
